Story Time Adventures

It is my privilege to be the new storyteller for the preschool story time at the Children’s Museum in Carson City. My name is Beverly Vugteveen, but you can call me Miss Bev. After many years of teaching and homeschooling, it is a joy to work with our youngest museum visitors. At story time, we will explore a variety of themes and subjects through rich children’s literature, music, finger-plays, puppets, and art. It is my hope that not only will the children make new friends each week at story time, but that parents, grandparents, and nannies will receive encouragement, tips, and new friends, too.

More about Bev
Bev’s teaching certification and masters degree in reading are both from the University of Arizona. Her post-graduate work was done at Northern Arizona University in multi-age instruction. After teaching many years in the public and private sector, both stateside and overseas, Bev and her husband, Rob, chose to homeschool their two daughters. Since that time, Bev has taught pre-school through high school in home school communities in Arizona, Washington, and Nevada with an emphasis on reading and writing. Her family is currently involved with Classical Conversations as her youngest daughter completes high school. Bev has always loved working with children and enjoys sharing her love for literature, music, and art through her teaching.
